UW Health’s water system restored after Legionella cases

The water system at Madison, Wis.-based UW Health has returned to normal after health officials eliminated Legionella bacteria, according to channel3000.com.

Health officials used hyperchlorination techniques to clean the water system. Five patients were diagnosed with Legionnaires’ disease in November.

UW Health continues to investigate what caused the Legionnaires’ cases and their connection to the hospital’s hot water system. The hospital is still waiting for test results from its water system.
