Update: 10 new cases of salmonella from precut melons

On June 19 the CDC, reported 10 more cases of the salmonella outbreak linked to precut melons.

Here are three things you need to know:

1. The salmonella outbreak has affected 70 people and resulted in 34 hospitalizations.

2. Cases have been reported in Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky and Tennessee.

3. No deaths have been reported due to the outbreak as of June 19.

"Illnesses that occurred after May 28 might not yet be reported due to the time it takes between when a person becomes ill and when the illness is reported. This takes an average of two to four weeks," according to the CDC update.
