For their study, researchers assessed 180 children who underwent open airway surgery from January 2007-March 2009 at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. They found a 32.5 percent prevalence of MRSA. In addition, MRSA-colonized patients who were treated saw no postoperative infection rates.
