Researchers surveyed 253 physicians between May 2009 and June 2010 about information distributed at sales visits and how it would affect their prescription decisions.
Results showed that during 59 percent of sales visits, the representative did not mention any adverse effect of the drug, and 94 percent did not mention any potentially serious or life-threatening adverse effect. Despite lack of information about side effects, 2 out of 3 physicians reported that the visits would “probably” or “very probably” spur them to prescribe the drug more often.
