The patient, Michael Monning, is a deputy with the Dallas County Sheriff’s office. He entered the apartment where the first Ebola patient, Thomas Eric Duncan, had stayed before being admitted to the hospital, but he was not being monitored because he never was in direct contact with the patient, according to the report.
Mr. Monning reported feeling nauseous and was admitted to the hospital “out of an abundance of caution,” according to the report.
Mr. Duncan died in the hospital Wednesday morning.
