Scott & White Warns Patients, Public About Uptick in Drug-Resistant Bacteria

Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple, Texas, is seeing an increase in the multi-drug resistant organism Klebsiella pneumonaie, according to a Killeen Daily Herald report.

The hospital has been tracking the drug-resistant bug since 2010 and has alerted patients and the public about the increased presence of the bacteria. Hospital officials said the risk of infection is low but is still taking steps to prevent bacterial transmission.
