RWJF Funds New Jersey Primary Care Extension Research

The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation has granted $1.9 million in Primary Care Workforce Innovation grants to seven New Jersey primary care practices for research in extending primary care in advance of the expected physician shortage.

Each practice received up to $150,000 to collect and distribute data from their care extension efforts. While each organization will approach the opportunity in a different way, all innovations will help the practices work towards the dual goal of keeping costs low while improving patient care, according to a news release.

The practices receiving the grants include: Henry J. Austin Health Center (Trenton), Metropolitan Family Health Network (Jersey City), Hunterdon Healthcare System (Milford), Jewish Renaissance Medical Center (Perth Amboy), John F. Kennedy Medical Center Foundation (Edison), Rutgers University Foundation (New Brunswick) and Zufall Health Center (Dover).
