The legislation reconciles separate preparedness bills passed by the House and Senate last year. If enacted, it will reauthorize the hospital preparedness program, emergency system for advance registration of volunteer health professionals, medical reserve corps and other critical preparedness activities through fiscal year 2018.

The legislation will now go to the House for final passage, according to the report.
