Minnesota health insurance exchange sees record-breaking enrollment

Minnesota’s health insurance exchange MNsure saw 103,578 individuals sign up for private health insurance since open enrollment began Nov. 1, marking the first time the exchange had more than 100,000 residents sign up for health plans through the exchange.

The previous record — about 85,500 enrollees — was set during open enrollment last year. Open enrollment this year concludes Jan. 31. 

MNsure said 62 percent of private health plan enrollees are receiving tax credits this year. The average tax credit totals $672 per month or $8,000 annually.
