The hospital has two non-potable water wells to use for patient care, and has enough potable water stored for 1 gallon per person per day.
The hospital does not plan to evacuate, but is only keeping on essential staff and is urging community members to only come to the hospital if it is a critical emergency.
“We are sheltering in place with our remaining patients who require hospitalization, and have enough supplies to continue to provide high-quality care for the next several days,” said Christus Southeast Texas Health System CEO Paul Trevino. “Our faith remains steadfast that our community will continue to persevere in this crisis.”
