The memorial, titled “Prescribed to Death: A Memorial to the Victims of the Opioid Crisis,” comprises a wall displaying 22,000-plus pills to represent how many opioid-related deaths occur each year, on average.
Each pill contains the face of someone who has died because of an opioid overdose, according to the report.
The memorial will be on display in Chicago until Nov. 16. From there, it will travel to Pittsburgh, Atlanta, Ohio and Washington, D.C.
