The tool provides guidance for a hospital’s emergency management cycle for a hazardous materials incident requiring the decontamination of patients contaminated by and/or exposed to chemical, biological, radiological and/or nuclear agents.
The self-assessment asks questions about hospitals’ decontamination planning and preparedness, response and recovery capabilities in a checklist format, and provides additional resources throughout the document and in the appendix.
The self-assessment was published in 2013 through a contract with the Emergency Preparedness Bureau at the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.
