Parkland Memorial has been under intense public and federal scrutiny since reports broke out regarding the hospital’s patient safety violations last year. It entered into a systems improvement agreement with CMS after failing to remedy all citations, which included infection control issues.

According to the report, Mr. Button is leaving Parkland Memorial for a position at another hospital, and his resignation is effective Feb. 24.
