Oxygen Tank Explosion at Princeton Plainsboro Seriously Injures 1 Employee

An oxygen tank explosion at University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro (N.J.) at 8:50 p.m. April 10 left an employee with serious facial injuries, according to a report from The Times of Trenton.

According to an eyewitness and a member of the Plainsboro fire department, the explosion triggered pandemonium on the third floor of the hospital and damaged ceiling tiles but was isolated and did not cause a fire. A visitor was also exposed to the explosion and "is currently being evaluated," according to a statement from the hospital.

After the fire department was called, staff took precautionary measures, moving the 18 patients on the unit to other floors, according to the report.
