Number of Serious Adverse Events in Massachusetts Remain Unchanged Last Year

The total number of serious adverse events in Massachusetts, including medication errors and serious falls, remain unchanged in 2010 compared to 2009, according to a Boston Globe report.

According to the report, 510 patients experience a serious event in 2009, while 512 patients experienced a serious event in 2010. In addition, serious falls continue to comprise the greatest portion of reported adverse events, though that number has fallen from 199 in 2009 to approximately 178 in 2011.
