Here are eight things to know about the two projects.
• Over the next year, NQF’s member group National Quality Partners will bring together public and private sector experts and leaders to collaborate on a common agenda for improving antibiotic practices.
• The initiative will aim to accelerate the adoption of programs that curb antibiotic overuse and encourage better practices, including enhancing quality measures to impact prescribing patterns.
• Representatives of NQP say the U.S. is currently at a tipping point between addressing the looming problem of antibiotic resistance and a disastrous alternative.
• On Nov. 19, @NatQualityForum is hosting a TweetChat from noon to 1 p.m. eastern time to discuss the program using the hashtag #ABXatNQF.
• The second initiative focuses on tackling the major barriers and corresponding solutions to expediting high-quality care delivery for patients with complex illnesses.
• Partners in the effort include the Coalition to Transform Advanced Care, the American Case Management Association, Anthem, Carolinas HealthCare System and Community Health Accreditation Partners.
• The initiative will focus on creating the meaningful metrics that reflect the needs of individual critically ill patients and are necessary for improving care, according to NQP representatives.
• On Oct. 29 from noon to 1 p.m., @NatQualityForum is hosting a TweetChat on the initiative using the hashtag #advancedcare.
