North Carolina Passes Model Healthcare-Associated Infections Law

North Carolina lawmakers have passed the Model Healthcare-Associated Infections Law into law, according to a Hospira news release.

The new law establishes a statewide surveillance and reporting system for 14 specified healthcare-associated infections. The legislation is effective today, and institutions have until Dec. 31 to comply with its provisions.
