Healthmark Industries has launched a new line of cooling products, Cool Aids, to help keep staff in sterile processing and operating room areas cool while wearing personal protective equipment.

Cool Aids are designed to manage body temperature from the head, neck, chest and core body, and come in beanies, skull caps, neck wraps and vests. They are made from a combination of fabrics that create an evaporative temperature management system.

To use, workers submerge the Cool Aids in cool water and squeeze excess water out. The vest has cooling inserts that are refrigerated prior to use. The Cool Aids work for hours and can be used multiple times.

“It’s amazing the immediate relief Cool Aids provide. My team and I tried them out and were very satisfied with the results,” said one sterile processing manager in a news release. “I believe improving comfort will improve performance.”
