Ashkoka Mukpo, an American journalist who contracted Ebola in Liberia, arrived at The Nebraska Medical Center Oct. 6.
A blood test performed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention showed Mr. Mukpo no longer has the Ebola virus in his system, according to the report.
“Recovering form Ebola is a truly humbling feeling. Too many are not as fortunate and lucky as I’ve been. I’m very happy to be alive,” Mr. Mukpo said in a statement, according to NBC News.
According to the CDC, as of Oct. 14, more than 4,550 people have lost their lives to Ebola during the outbreak in West Africa, the largest Ebola outbreak in history.
