Johnson & Johnson starts ‘Nurses Innovate’ challenge to highlight nurse ideas

To help bring light to nurses as innovators, Johnson & Johnson has launched the “Nurses Innovate QuickFire Challenge,” inviting millions of U.S. nurses to submit ideas for new devices, health technologies, protocols or treatment approaches.

The medical device and pharmaceutical company has committed up to $100,000 in grants and access to mentoring and coaching through Johnson & Johnson’s JLABS science incubator.  

The challenge will run from Oct. 1 to Feb. 1, 2019. Solutions will be evaluated by a panel of reviewers and judges on their ability to meet the following criteria:

  • Uniqueness of the idea
  • Potential effect on human health
  • Feasibility of the idea
  • Thoroughness of approach
  • Identification of key resources and plan to move idea forward
