NorthShore’s Center for Simulation and Innovation recently received a $500,000 donation from the Jane R. Perlman Trust that will fund an advanced practice provider residency program. The program will use medical scenario simulations to teach NPs and PAs to improve patient care and outcomes while reducing costs, according to a news release.
“Simulation will be used extensively in training candidates who participate in this program in order to accelerate their learning curve,” Ernest E. Wang, MD, medical director of NCSI, said in a release. “Our hope is that the establishment of this program at NorthShore will lead to a paradigm shift in the way APP training is conducted around the country.”
