Gateway Medical Center Removes Bedside Bibles for Infection Prevention

Gateway Medical Center in Clarksville, Tenn., has removed all bedside Bibles and implemented a new policy in order to boost infection prevention efforts, according to a Leaf Chronicle report.

Under the new policy, patients may request a brand new Bible, which may be taken home after their hospital stay, to prevent the spread of infection. The hospital has removed, cleaned and donated all bedside Bibles to a local church.
