The proportion of outpatient visits for flu-like illness was at 2.5 percent for the week ending Feb. 28, above the national baseline level of 2 percent, meaning the illness is at elevated levels. However, the proportion is down from the week ending Feb. 21, when it sat at 3 percent.

Additionally, six flu-associated pediatric deaths were reported last week, bringing the total number of pediatric deaths associated with the flu this year to 97. The proportion of deaths attributed to pneumonia and influenza also remained at epidemic levels.
