The Agency for Health Care Administration investigated the facility May 23, 2017, and found “what appeared to be bedbugs crawling on the walls,” according to the report.

The Florida Department of Health also inspected the facility in 2017 and reported bedbugs in 12 rooms.

After the findings, the AHCA reviewed patient records and found three patients were affected by bedbugs. Further, the facility failed to ensure one of the patients received treatment for bedbug bites.

The fine was issued by AHCA Secretary Justin Senior.
