Flesh-eating bacteria strikes another man in Texas

A man from Buda, Texas, is currently battling a flesh-eating bacteria infection. This is the second infection of flesh-eating bacteria to occur in the state in recent weeks. The previous infection occurred in a 50-year-old man whose right leg was amputated due to the infection, according to the Tech Times.

A few days after a Father’s Day getaway to Port Aransas, Texas, Adrian Ruiz was diagnosed with a Vibrio infection. According to the CDC, Vibrio bacteria grow well in salty environments like seawater. People can become infected with the bacteria by consuming undercooked seafood or by swimming with an exposed wound.

According to KXAN, physicians found no cuts on Mr. Ruiz and his recovery looks positive.
