Only about half of U.S. adults received certain preventive services before 2010, according to a CDC study.

The study, “Use of Selected Clinical Preventive Services Among Adults-United States, 2007-2010,” looked at preventive services identified by CDC as public health priorities, including aspirin or other blood-thinning therapy, controlling blood pressure, screening for and controlling high cholesterol and ending tobacco use.

CDC noted the utilization of preventive services may change in the future due to provisions in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act that require insurers to provide certain preventive services.
