CDC flu report: US flu activity continues to rise

For the week of Jan. 3-9, national laboratory data indicated that influenza activity in the U.S. increased, although the proportion of outpatient visits for flu-related illness remained below the national baseline, according to the CDC.

Four of 10 individual regions reported outpatient visits for flu-related illnesses above their respective baselines and one flu-associated pediatric death was reported, bringing the total to seven for the 2015-2016 flu season.
