Twenty-one days have passed since the diagnosis of Thomas Eric Duncan, the first patient diagnosed with Ebola in the United States, marking the end of the monitoring period for all those with whom he came into contact. None of them showed signs of contracting the virus, according to the report.
However, more than 70 healthcare workers who cared for Mr. Duncan are still being monitored, according to the report.
Two of those healthcare workers, nurses at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, have contracted Ebola and remain hospitalized.
Last week, the World Health Organization declared Nigeria was free of Ebola.
