4 ways to get involved during Patient Safety Awareness Week

The United in Patient Safety campaign culminates annually with Patient Safety Awareness Week, which will run March 13-19 this year.

Here are four ways to get involved.

1. Wear a patient gown: Through a visual demonstration of empathy, The National Patient Safety Foundation is challenging healthcare leaders to step into the role of the patient. Donning the gown will indicate a high level of commitment to patient safety and harm reduction.

2. Social media: Take to Facebook or Twitter to spread the word about patient awareness week. You can start by sharing this Ask Me 3 video from the National Patient Safety Foundation.

3. Register with the campaign and use materials: Registering with the campaign here will allow you to download and utilize promotional materials that include a printable poster and a do-it-yourself table tent.

4. Join the discussion: Share your experience and pick up tips from others.
