Three nursing home chains in Washington state settled allegations that they violated the Americans with Disabilities Act by denying admission to residents due to substance use disorder and failed to provide a sign-language interpreter for a patient who is deaf.

U.S. News & World Report evaluated 1,040 hospitals across the country and ranked them for care of patients recovering from events such as stroke, traumatic brain injury and severe burns.

Rehabilitation provider Mary Free Bed, in partnership with Corewell Health and Helen DeVos Children's Hospital, all based in Grand Rapids, Mich., announced the name of the first children's rehabilitation hospital in the state, ABC affiliate WSBT reported Oct. 23.
