The hospital donated 50 Fitbit 2 devices to the district for students in the health sciences academy program to use during the school year. Students will use the devices to track their daily habits, including exercise, water consumption, caloric intake and sleep, and use that data in related coursework.
“We are excited to offer the Fitbits to the Health Science Academy students for this new and collaborative educational experience,” said Mayo Health Promotion Coordinator Heidi Odegaard. “The Fitbits will help the students integrate technology into their studies while learning how everyday choices affect their overall health.”
