Grady said McDonald’s did not provide a reason for the abrupt closure, and the hospital is currently exploring various options for this former restaurant location “that best serve the needs of our patients, visitors and staff.”
The closure of Grady’s McDonald‘s follows protests by Washington, D.C.-based medical group Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, which put up billboards around the medical center in May to encourage board members not to renew the fast-food restaurant’s lease, according to the report.
Now, Grady joins at least five other hospitals, including Cleveland Clinic, that have severed ties with McDonald‘s since January 2015.
