10 worst states for STDs

Roughly 1.6 million cases of chlamydia were reported to the CDC in 2016, making it the most common sexually transmitted disease in the U.S., according to a recent CDC report.

The report, titled “Sexually Transmitted Disease Surveillance 2016,” examined the outcomes and spread of the three common STDs — chlamydia, syphilis and gonorrhea — among others, for 2016.

Here are the 10 worst states for each condition for 2016 based on rates per 100,000 population, according to the CDC.
