There are no quality or safety issues with the medications, so patients should continue to take them as prescribed, the companies said. The recall was only issued because the blister packaging used to contain the drugs doesn’t meet U.S. federal requirements for child resistance, which poses a threat to child safety. There has been one report of a child ingesting haloperidol, an antipsychotic medication, from a blister pack.
All affected products were sold nationwide at clinics and pharmacies between September 2016 and June 2018.
The recalled products include various lots of the following:
- Zofran ODT
- Entresto
- Azithromycin tablets
- Donepezil ODT
- Haloperidol
- Imipramine HCl
- Isosorbide Dinitrate
- Naratriptan tablets
- Ondansetron ODT
- Ondansetron tablets
- Perphenazine
- Risperidone ODT
