Established Feb. 13, the commission will assess and compare America’s childhood chronic disease burden to other countries, according to an executive order. The assessment will analyze certain food ingredients and chemicals, best practices for preventing childhood illnesses and current health educational programs.
The commission will also “assess the prevalence of and threat posed by the prescription of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, antipsychotics, mood stabilizers, stimulants and weight loss drugs.”
Mr. Kennedy has previously discredited GLP-1 weight loss medications, such as Ozempic.
Within 180 days, the commission will submit a strategy based on its findings on the childhood chronic disease crisis.
