CVS to pay $535K to settle claims of filling forged prescriptions

CVS Health will pay $535,000 to resolve allegations that some of its pharmacies in Rhode Island filled dozens of forged prescriptions, according to local TV broadcaster WPRI.

An investigation found that 39 forged prescriptions for Percocet were filled in various CVS pharmacies and that pharmacists should have known that the prescriptions were invalid.

CVS denies any wrongdoing, and told WPRI that it “agreed to this settlement to avoid the delay, uncertainty and expense of litigation.”
