The plaintiffs, Alva and Alberta Pillioid, were awarded $1.37 billion and $1.18 billion respectively.
The jury said that the company didn’t properly warn of the risk of contracting cancer from its weedkiller, Roundup.
Bayer told CNBC it was disappointed with the decision and it plans to appeal.
Roundup is a weedkiller produced by Monsanto, which Bayer acquired last year for $63 billion.
