Arlington-based Texas Health Resources and Richardson-based Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas signaled a thawing of their contract dispute as the two organizations agreed on a rate increase ahead of their contract's Dec. 31 deadline, The Dallas Morning News reports.
THR and BCBS of Texas have disagreed over THR's ask for a 5 percent reimbursement increase. BCBS of Texas said the increase would amount to $57 million a year, a cost the insurer said will affect consumers, according to the report.
While the two parties agreed on an undisclosed rate increase, THR and BCBS of Texas are still in negotiations about contract wording regarding a termination clause. If no resolution is reached, the impasse could leave 150,000 north Texas residents searching for in-network providers.
