Scott & White Health Plan, the insurance arm of Dallas-based Baylor Scott & White Health, will pull its plans from the Affordable Care Act marketplace in 2017.
In a Q&A posted to its website, Scott & White Health Plan said, "Like many other health insurers, we have determined that we cannot currently service marketplace plans on an effective and financially sustainable basis."
In addition to exiting the federal healthcare marketplace, Scott & White Health said it will refine its off-marketplace plans.
Scott & White Health Plan's announcement comes after Hartford, Conn.-based Aetna's decision to pull out of 11 of its 15 state exchanges next year.
