Cigna, Aetna hire lobbyists to smooth mega-merger process

Cigna and Aetna are bringing on lobbying groups to help them navigate their respective mergers, according to The Hill.

Bloomfield, Conn.-based Cigna hired the following two lobbying firms amid its $54 million merger with Indianapolis-based Anthem, according to The Hill.

  • Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr (WilmerHale)
  • Polaris Government Relations

Harford, Conn.-based Aetna hired the following four firms to assist its $37 billion merger with Louisville, Ky.-based Humana, according to The Hill.

  • Bloom Strategic Counsel
  • The Gibson Group
  • West Front Strategies
  • CGCN Group
