Evacuations took place at Winnie, Texas-based Riceland Medical Center, which was swamped by more than four inches of water.
Though some patients were evacuated via a bus, the hospital remained open.
The New York Times reported that employees trudged barefoot across water-drenched floors in order to treat those who remained at the facility.
