Sonifi Health's interactive patient engagement solutions were associated with a significant jump in HCAHPS scores for nine hospitals over a one-year period, according to a company
Sonifi's solutions include in-room interactive televisions, tablets and digital whiteboards. The solutions also integrate with EHRs to improve patient care and improve efficiency. To assess the possible influence of these technologies on hospitals' HCAHPS scores, Sonifi used CMS Hospital Compare data to assess scores both before and after implementation of the patient engagement solutions.
Sonifi assessed HCAHPS scores for the following hospitals:
- Sutter Health's Eden Medical Center (Castro Valley, Calif.)
- UConn's John Dempsey Hospital (Farmington, Conn.)
- Mayo Clinic Health System's Franciscan Medical Center-La Crosse (Wis.)
- John D. Archbold Memorial Hospital (Thomasville, Ga.)
- Fairbanks (Alaska) Memorial Hospital
- North Memorial Medical Center (Robbinsdale, Minn.)
- Phoebe Sumter Medical Center (Americus, Ga.)
- Williamsport (Pa.) Regional Medical Center
- Wentworth-Douglass Hospital (Dover, N.H.)
Overall, these hospitals experienced score increases on five HCAHPS patient survey measures after integrating Sonifi solutions:
