New Jersey hospital offers hospital navigation app

On Thursday, Overlook Medical Center in Summit, N.J., a part of the Morristown, N.J.-based Atlantic Health System, launched a mobile app to assist patients and their families as they navigate through the hospital.

The app, called “Take Me There,” is powered by Connexient and MediNav Digital Wayfinding. In addition to providing in-hospital directions, the app aims to improve patient experience by directing patients to the most optimal parking location based on their appointment location inside the facility.

“Patients and visitors can be very anxious when they enter a hospital,” said Gerard Durney, director of operations at Overlook. “It can be difficult to remember directions. This patient-focused feature is one of the many services we have in place to help patients find their way, be on time and, hopefully, be more relaxed.”
