Telehealth Services, a provider of integrated technology and communications solutions, recognized four hospitals for achievements in patient engagement.
The honorees were named at the TigrCon16 client conference in New Orleans. The hospitals were awarded based on successes achieved with the aid of the TeleHealth Services product SmarTigr, the company's interactive, video-based patient education platform.
Below are the four awardees.
Charleston (W.V.) Area Medical Center Health System received the Readmission Reduction Innovation Award for using video-based patient education to help reduce chronic obstructive pulmonary disease readmissions by 30 percent from the previous year.
Cox Health in Springfield, Mo., received the Utilization Innovation Award for delivering patient education across the entire health system, as well as helping to drive improvement in patient safety and satisfaction.
Eskenazi Health in Indianapolis received the Fiscal Innovation Award for reducing costs by replacing in-person classroom trainings for mothers on newborn care with video-based patient education.
Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center in Janesville, Wis., received the Discharge Innovation Award for increasing staff efficiency for discharge education by 50 percent with video-based patient education.
