Boston Children’s HospitalIn 1929, Boston Children’s became the first pediatric hospital to launch a child-focused neurology service line, which has grown to include more than 40 specialized programs and 60-plus pediatric neurologists. Boston Children’s was the first pediatric hospital in the nation to use MRI in a neurosurgical operating room. The hospital also has a robust spine service, caring for more than 9,000 spine patients and performing 300 spinal operations each year through the Orthopedic Center’s Spine Program. It’s one of the largest referral centers in the country for pediatric patients with spinal conditions and features innovative technology for spinal deformity that allows surgeons to implant growing rods that stabilize the spine and adjust non-invasively as the patients age. Boston Children’s Hospital ranked as the No. 1 hospital for pediatric neurology and neurosurgery in the U.S. News & World Report 2017-18 rankings.
