California physician arrested for sexual misconduct and false imprisonment against patients

Redding, Calif.-based neurologist Hamid Rabiee, MD, was arrested Thursday night for allegedly initiating inappropriate sexual contact with patients, according to Action News Now.

The criminal complaint against Dr. Rabiee contained nine felony charges including sexual exploitation of a patient, sexual battery by restraint and false imprisonment. Officials from the Shasta County District Attorney's Office said there were four alleged victims over a five-year span.

"Several of the victims did report very similar conduct. They were there for medical exams. At some point during the exam, the doctor requested that they turn around and perform certain exercises while he pressed his genitals up against them," Stephanie Bridgett, the Shasta County District Attorney, told Action News Now.
