St. Louis hospital to open outpatient cancer center

St. Louis-based Siteman Cancer Center, part of Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine, plans to open a 659,000-square-foot outpatient cancer center in summer 2024.

Plans for the nine-story facility, set to be on the university's medical campus, are being finalized. The facility's design includes space for 96 exam rooms, 88 infusion pods, radiology and breast imaging services, and hematology and chemistry labs.

The ambulatory care center, which will be connected to the rest of the medical campus via an elevated pedestrian link, eliminates the need for patients to visit numerous campus locations for care. It will provide advanced cancer care, support services and access to clinical trials.

Existing outpatient care on the medical campus will be moved to the new facility.
