Baptist Medical Center Beaches (Fla.) will open a joint cardiac and interventional radiology center, according to a report in The Beaches Leader.

On April 1, Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Needham (Mass.) broke ground on a new cancer treatment center, which is expected to be complete in 2014, according to a Needham Patch report.

Shawnee Mission (Kan.) Medical Center is scheduled to open an outpatient cancer center in July 2013, according to a report in The Kansas City Star.

Lane Regional Medical Center in Zachary, La., and Baton Rouge (La.) General have announced a plan to build a $3.5 million radiation oncology center on the Lane campus, according to a Zachary Today report.

Danville, Ky.-based Ephraim McDowell Health and Commonwealth Cancer Center also in Danville, have entered into a strategic alliance, according to a report by The Advocate-Messenger.  

Seattle-based Swedish Health Services announced it will open a $10.9 million outpatient cancer center in Edmonds, Wash., on April 1.

Lancaster (Pa.) General Health is building a $46 million cancer center in Lancaster, according to an Intelligencer Journal/Lancaster New Era report.

Hospitals and health systems across the nation are constructing new centers and expanding existing ones for key specialties.

Martha's Vineyard Hospital in Oak Bluffs, Mass., has signed an oncology agreement with Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, according to a report by The Martha's Vineyard Times.  

Bloomington, Minn.-based HealthPartners is planning a $4.2 million expansion of the cancer center at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, Minn., according to a Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal report.
