The World Health Organization and Memphis, Tenn.-based St. Jude Children's Research Hospital announced a partnership Dec. 13 to create a platform that will increase childhood cancer medicine access around the world.

Recent studies from Yale Cancer Center have focused on telemedicine health visits by race, the effect of a diabetes drug on breast cancer and more. 

Wilmington, Del.-based ChristianaCare received a $1.1 million grant from the Lisa Dean Moseley Foundation to establish a first-of-its-kind translational cancer fellowship focusing on cancer stem cell research, the system said Dec. 9.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is recommending the state allocate $100 million for cancer research and care in the state's upcoming budget, according to Mr. DeSantis' wife, Casey DeSantis.

Providence, R.I.-based Brown University received a $25 million gift from Pablo Legorreta, founder and CEO of Royalty Pharma, and his wife, Almudena, to transform the university's recently launched cancer care center, the university said Dec. 9.

Duarte, Calif.-based City of Hope, a National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer research and treatment organization, announced Dec. 8 it will acquire Cancer Treatment Centers of America, a national network of oncology hospitals and outpatient care centers.

The American Cancer Society named five new members to its board of directors, with all terms beginning on Jan. 1, the organization said Dec. 7.
