Eleven PPS-exempt cancer hospitals are required to participate in the PPS-Exempt Cancer Hospital Quality Reporting Program, a specialized quality reporting program established in 2010 by the ACA.

Healthcare associated infections are measured by a standard infection ratio, which compares the observed number of infections to the number of predicted infections.

All 11 PPS-exempt cancer hospitals reported C. diff infection rates under the national C. diff infection rate.
